The Dynaudio Audience 52 SE is the latest model following the company’s
longstanding tradition of technically advanced, high performance
compact loudspeaker designs. Based on the internationally acclaimed
and award-winning model Audience 52, the SE sets new standards in
qualitative music reproduction from a compact loudspeaker at its
price range and size, offering a musical and emotionally involving
performance. Several performance updates, all of them selected through
extensive finetuning by the Dynaudio product development team in
Denmark, ennobles this model to bear the designation of ‘Special
Edition’.
Tweeter
The new Esotec tweeter, originally developed for the recently introduced
Contour S models, features a double magnet system, optimised back
chamber geometry, and a multiple-coated fabric soft dome with aluminium
wire voice coil. In contrast to the regular Audience models, this
tweeter is mounted onto a dark grey aluminium mounting plate and
integrated into the anti-resonant baffle. This special tweeter features
adjusted tuning of the motor circuit to improve the high-frequency
performance as compared to the previous model it replaces.
Mid/Bass
The classic 17W75 mid/bass driver, as derived from the renowned
Dynaudio model Contour 1.3 Mk II, utilizes the characteristic MSP
(Magnesium-Silicate-Polymer) cone, a 75mm aluminium wire voice coil,
and a powerful magnet system. This high-performance driver is integrated
into an extremely rigid, dark grey die-cast aluminium basket.
Crossover
A completely new crossover was developed to harmoniously integrate
the new tweeter and woofer within the Audience 52 cabinet. For the
SE, this new filter features high quality components throughout,
including inductors wound on air cores, capacitors with low-loss
dielectric, and zero compression resistors, all mounted onto a rigid
circuit board.
Terminals
High quality, gold plated and thermally isolated connectors are
located on a solid terminal plate sourced from the former Contour
series. The terminal plate is directly connected to the crossover
to minimize loss.
Cabinet
The Audience 52 SE is available in a choice of natural cherry or
natural maple realwood veneer, combined with a removable black cloth
grille exclusive to this Special Editiom version. Above the terminal
panel on the back the special "Audience 52 SE” aluminium
nameplate denotes this remarkable version of the Audience 52.
